1/11/2006 It Really Is THIS Easy |
Two years ago, a customer at the Starbucks I worked at gave me a 40gb iPod. I might argue that it is the best tip any barista has ever received. Jay was one of my favorite customers in the world-- before he gave me the iPod. 4-Shot Iced Venti Easy Vanilla Non-Fat Latte. This summer, the battery literally died in a day. The iPod would play for less than 15 seconds and die-- no matter how long or short you charged it. So, it has kind of become a "stationary" music system in our living room since then. After watching the OWC battery replacement tutorials at least 100 times, I finally decided to give changing the battery a whirl for myself. Surprisingly, it is just as easy as the video demonstrates. The store where Katie bought the replacement tried to guilt her into paying $70 to let them install it. Watch the video and ask yourself what kind of racket these people are running. If you have a dead iPod laying around, order the NewerTech replacement kit. Replacement takes 4 minutes (even when you have to take the thing apart for the second time because you didn't connect the HD properly the first time).
