Newer Technology is now offering a carrying case for its Universal Drive Adapter. The case costs $4.95. The Universal Drive Adapter is billed as a “tech Swiss Army knife” that enables you to connect any 2.5-inch, 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch hard drive or optical drive mechanism with IDE, ATA or ATAPI 40-pin interfaces or Serial ATA (SATA) interface to a Mac or PC using USB 2.0. It’s handy for technicians on the road and others who may have to service a bare drive mechanism or try to recover data while in the field. It includes a power cable and cable adapters. The new case lets you take the Universal Drive Adapter with you without needing to worry about it getting knocked or banged around — it protects the adapter inside of a laptop case, backpack or briefcase. It’s made of nylon and is secured with a zipper. |
