NewerTech has announced the launch of a revamped recycling program providing a no-cost means for customers to ensure their old PowerBook and iBook batteries are properly disposed of and that associated recoverable materials are responsibly recycled.

"NewerTech has long led the way with the highest capacity and longest lasting Powerbook and iBook batteries available;" said Larry O'Connor, president. "NewerTech is now proud to lead the way by taking steps that ensure proper environmentally-friendly laptop battery recycling/disposal with this no-cost option for our customers."

NewerTech NuPower high-capacity replacement batteries are designed, engineered and manufactured in the US utilizing the highest quality cells in the world, offering up to 62-percent more capacity than original Apple batteries.

Editor's note: I had noticed NewerTech's most-recent battery-related news release didn't include any mention of a recycling program. It's great to see not only that it hadn't gone away, but that it actually has been greatly improved—excellent.
