NewerTech Releases Green Storage Drive

Adding a shade of green to its award-winning Guardian MAXimus line of external storage solutions, Newer Technology - an upgrade provider for PC and Mac-based platforms - has just released its first sustainable storage drive.

The Guardian MAXimus eMAX RAID-1 Mirror Plug & Play storage device boasts a 50 percent reduction in power consumption when compared to the traditionally powered 1TB drives. Further boosting its green credentials, the company worked to ensure that the drive is RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) certified to deliver maximum data protection while offering the utmost in low noise operation.

"The addition of the new Guardian MAXimus eMAX continues the product development mission of the Guardian MAXimus line," Grant Dahlke, marketing manager at NewerTech, said in a statement. "When only maximum performance, quality, ease of use, and now energy efficiency savings will suffice for data protection/backup needs, Mac and PC users alike will find their needs exceeded by a Guardian MAXimus model."
