Broadcasters re-use more and more subtitled content—however, there are times when a subtitle file is required from existing teletext data in video. Oh, what to do... how about a little CAPture? From SysMedia, this product allows broadcasters to avoid the time and the expense of creating new subtitles for a previously submitted program, whether live or an archive tape. CAPture allows the subtitles to be reworked easily after capture from an original live transmission or to fit with a program edit. The software automatically detects scrolled subtitles as well as block mode subtitles. Then, it stores both the word-by-word scrolled version and creates a block mode equivalent version, as well, making subsequent reworking far easier. CAPture is supplied as a complete 1U rack mount that decodes teletext subtitles from a composite video feed. The program then stores the text, position, color and associated timing data, using an external timecode feed or internal clock, and creates an EBU-STL file—Horley, United Kingdom
