Review: NewerTech Folio Case Lets You Keep Your iPad Safe on the Go
NewerTech Media Coverage
If you trust a folio to keep your iPad safe and secure, you want it to be high quality. NewerTech provides peace of mind in various colors with its Original iFolio ($29.99). Made with Brazilian leather, I had a chance to carry one around for awhile to see how I liked it. With built in handle and detachable strap, plus extra cushioned padding, my iPad has been happily snug in its new home.
I really like the minimalist design of the iFolio that allows the Brazilian leather to speak for itself. The detachable strap is double stitched and adjustable for wearing over the shoulder, which I find to be extremely helpful when my hands are full. The folio is held shut by a zipper which seems of good quality and doesn’t stick when sliding the folio open and closed.
On the inside right is where you put your iPad. There are soft, leather loops that make it easy to slide your iPad in and out. A feature I appreciate as past folios I’ve owned made it annoying to remove the iPad constantly. The left side has a hard-backed document sleeve for keeping important notes and papers. As well as two card holders for your business or credit cards. I even kept my license in it one day as I attempted to use the folio to replace my purse. For me, it nearly could minus my iPhone and keys. There’s also a leather loop for your stylus or pen.
Pros:
Well made, quality stitched leather
Inside compartments are handy
Extra cushion for no fear iPad carry
Adjustable, detachable strap
Cons:
iPad moves around a bit in straps. I don’t fear it falling out, but I find myself re-adjusting it.
Final Verdict:
The Original iFolio is nicely convenient. I like the minimal design and appreciate the extra padding for iPad screen protection. If you’re on the go with your iPad but hate carrying sleeves, definitely check this out. I think the long strap was my favorite feature.
